The Road to Hershey, much like the Path to the Pete, is now complete.
Another high school basketball season is in the books following the crowning of 12 state champions on the floor of the Giant Center this past weekend.
The WPIAL saw three district teams return home with PIAA gold in the South Fayette girls, Greensburg Central Catholic girls and Sewickley Academy boys.
The total of three state champs this season tied 2022 and 2023 for the second-most captured by WPIAL teams this decade.
In 2024, four teams from District 7 won state titles with Lincoln Park boys in 4A, Aliquippa boys in 2A, Imani Christian Academy boys in A and Blackhawk girls in 4A.
State silver this winter went to Oakland Catholic girls, Neshannock girls, Neighborhood Academy boys and Obama Academy boys from the City League.
