Some classrooms at the Greater Latrobe School District will be closed Thursday after a sprinkler system malfunctioned.
All students should still report to school, Superintendent Kim Rieffannacht said in a letter to families.
The problem affects the junior high building.
Students and teachers from eight impacted classrooms will learn in other spaces within the building.
All classrooms are expected to be restored next week, Rieffannacht said in her letter.
At about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, a sprinkler system valve failure resulted in significant leaking.
Custodial and maintenance teams removed the water and initiated drying efforts. A company was hired to clean the carpets.
Hallways and classrooms with minimal water impact will reopen for in-person class Thursday.
The malfunction is not related to the current roofing project, district officials said.
