It’s clear that most Pittsburgh Steelers fans despise the notion of potentially waiting all the way through the draft for Aaron Rodgers to sign.

The only idea the Steelers fans seem to hate more? Signing any of the other available veteran quarterbacks.

Ick! What a list.

I was reminded of that this week, as I was noticing something similar about Pirates fans:

As a writer, it’s bad to be pessimistic about the Pirates as Opening Day approaches. The only thing worse?

Being too optimistic!

Lesson learned. On both fronts. Here is this week’s “U mad, bro?”

Keith is mad at Adam Schefter’s statement that Kirk Cousins would be a “logical pivot” for the Steelers if Aaron Rodgers stiffs the team.

Actually, Keith, it was an entirely credible statement except for one word: “logical.”

If he had replaced “logical” with “desperate,” it would’ve been perfectly fine.

“Bobzilla” isn’t exactly a fan of the Cousins idea either.

If Cousins is a “third-tier QB,” is there a fourth tier? And if so, who exactly is in it?

And have they all previously been quarterbacks in Cleveland?

“Mikey P” wants to chime in on Schefter’s “pivot” idea too.

Exactly, Mikey. And much like poor Ross in that episode of “Friends,” if the Steelers really did “pivot” to Cousins, they’d just be jamming themselves into a corner, unable to move forward.

Saurosaur is taking a different approach.

Frankly, Saurosaur, I don’t dispute your statement at all. You’re probably right.

But the Steelers’ panic threshold isn’t in question here. It’s their — what’s the word I’m looking for — “logic.”

What’s the logical reason to delay a sincere quest to move on to the next quarterback and wait until after the draft for a 42-year-old QB who is unlikely to get you to a playoff win for the first time in a decade?

That tactic also isn’t “logical.”

This person thinks that the hype around Pirates optimism has gotten a little silly.

Honestly, I’m getting a little tired of waiting for the parades we are supposed to have if the Steelers or Penguins ever win a playoff round again.

So take one when you can get one, I guess.

And, gosh, I do love a parade.

We’ll end with Angelo. He seems skeptical too.

I might have been generous with 81 wins, but I think the Pirates are at least capable of 10 wins for the whole season. I mean, at least nine out of 162.

As far as the Orioles and Guardi… ohhhhhh!

You mean the Steelers won’t win 10 games? Ah! Now I understand.

Well, Angelo, I’m not sure if you are aware of this or not, but no Steelers coach named “Mike” has ever had a losing season.

That’s an important fact to know. And get used to hearing it.
