Thousands of Pittsburgh area residents took to the streets Saturday as part of a nationwide day of protest.
The “No Kings” protests were billed as the largest single day of action since President Donald Trump was sworn in for a second term.
Speakers at the Indivisible Pittsburgh organized event at the City-County Building in Downtown Pittsburgh included Lt. Governor Austin Davis, state Rep. Arvind Venkat, Bucks County Sheriff Danny Ceisler, and Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers President Billy Hileman.
They addressed the crowd about democracy, immigration, everyday affordability, voting rights, and reproductive rights.
Protests were also planned in several communities surrounding Pittsburgh including Greensburg, Indiana, Johnstown, McCandless, Mt. Lebanon, Penn Hills, Sewickley, Uniontown, Washington and Beaver.
