The Pittsburgh concert calendar is filling up, with at least a dozen sold-out concerts in April. The intriguing shows include a rising country star, alternative rock veterans and the aforementioned sellouts from a wide swath of musical genres.

Here’s a look at the top concerts coming to the Pittsburgh region in April:

Top concerts

April 7: Bush, Mammoth, James and the Cold Gun at UPMC Events Center

Alt rock veterans Bush (think “Glycerine” and “Machinehead”) are kicking off their Land of Milk and Honey tour in the Pittsburgh area with a show at UPMC Events Center in Moon.

“I just want to blow people away. I want them to be just shocked, to leave there feeling different,” Rossdale said. “And if you can affect people to where they go see a show and you touch them in some way, yeah, that’s what I love to do.”

April 11: Bailey Zimmerman, Hudson Westbrook, Blaken Whiten at Petersen Events Center

Rising country music star Bailey Zimmerman has all but sold out the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood.

Known for songs like “Backup Plan” and “Rock and a Hard Place,” Zimmerman is out on his Different Night Same Rodeo tour, his first trek headlining arenas.

“I honestly feel like I’ve been restricted in smaller venues. I have always had this dream and this idea for this arena show — this big, awesome show,” Zimmerman told People Magazine in the fall. “I’m really excited to, I guess, prove that next year, I can do it.”

April 4: Our Lady Peace, The Verve Pipe at Roxian Theatre

The Canadian alt rockers Our Lady Peace are continuing their OLP30 30th Anniversary tour, celebrating their greatest hits like “Clumsy” and “Starseed.”

April 4: New York Voices with Paquito D’Rivera at MCG Jazz Music Hall

Vocal ensemble New York Voices are on their farewell tour, with Cuban-American bandleader Paquito D’Rivera sharing the stage.

April 6: Poison the Well, Converge, Spy, Balmora at Preserving

Metalcore veterans Poison the Well just released “Peace in Place,” their first album in 16 years.

April 8: CeCe Winans at Benedum Center

Gospel singer CeCe Winans leads a night of worship music with songs like “Goodness of God,” “Believe For It” and “Alabaster Box.”

April 11: In Color, Eden Joel at Club Cafe

The Nashville-based alt pop band In Color released their debut EP, “Snow Day,” last year and followed with their latest single, “Big Deal,” last month.

April 12: Slaughter to Prevail, Whitechapel, Attila at Roxian Theatre

Russian metal group Slaughter to Prevail bring their spring tour to Pittsburgh, with last year’s “Grizzly” album still fresh on their minds.

April 13: Soul Asylum, Corey Glover at City Winery Pittsburgh

April 14: CupcakKe, Super Famous Fun Time Guys, Daisy, Visciouswishes at Crafthouse

Rapper CupcakKe, who first went viral with some hypersexualized songs in 2015, brings her BakKery tour to Pittsburgh.

April 17-18: Blasey does the ’70s at City Winery Pittsburgh

The Clarks lead vocalist Scott Blasey revisits music from his formative years: the 1970s.

April 18: John Pizzarelli Trio at MCG Jazz Music Hall

Guitarist/singer John Pizzarelli will take the stage with his new tribute to Tony Bennett.

April 20: Brenn!, Hudson Ingram at Spirit Hall

Rising folk-pop singer Brenn! bring his Warm Up tour to the area, releasing a new single, “brand new car,” in February.

April 25: The Midnight, New Constellations at Roxian Theatre

Los Angels synthwave band The Midnight, out on their Time Machines tour, released a new album, “Syndicate,” in October.
