A man was fatally shot on Pittsburgh’s South Side early Sunday morning, police said.

At South 18th Street and East Carson Street, police found a man with multiple gunshot wounds after responding to a ShotSpotter alert at 2:28 a.m. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead there.

The victim has not been identified. At that site, there were two separate ShotSpotter alerts totaling eight rounds.

Earlier in the morning, just after midnight, police responded to a shooting at South 15th and Bingham streets. An adult male was found on the ground with gunshot wounds. The unidentified man is in critical condition at a hospital.

Police have arrested Devin Singleton, 25, of Pittsburgh, in connection with that incident. He has been charged with aggravated assault.

Pittsburgh Police Chief Jason Lando told TribLive news partner WTAE that the Bingham Street shooting was a road rage incident. It is unrelated to the fatal South Side shooting later in the morning.
