The 2026 WPIAL boys volleyball season ramps up in its third week as teams continue to battle with crucial matches in section play.

North Allegheny in Class 3A and Shaler in Class 2A continue to set the pace in their classifications in the latest Western Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association top-10 polls released Monday morning.

A lot of the teams in both polls held their positions with Norwin the biggest mover from No. 9 to No. 7 in Class 3A after a week which included a run to the championship game of Saturday’s Derry tournament.

Seneca Valley, No. 2 to North Allegheny this week, captured the title at its own tournament, topping No. 5 Upper St. Clair in the finals.

The rest of the Class 3A top 10 has Pine-Richland at No. 3, Butler at No. 4, Mt. Lebanon at No. 6, Canon-McMillan at No. 8, and Penn-Trafford at No. 9, with Hempfield entering the rankings at No. 10.

The only movement in the Class 2A poll saw Thomas Jefferson and Ambridge exchange places. The Jaguars are No. 4 this week, with Ambridge at No. 5.

Seton-LaSalle is No. 2, and South Fayette is No. 3.

The rest of the Class 2A poll has Montour at No. 6 followed by Hopewell, Derry, Deer Lakes and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.

Each week throughout the season, all 45 boys volleyball head coaches will have the opportunity to cast a ballot for the top-10 rankings and also nominate players for each classification’s players of the week.
