An employee of a senior living and memory care facility in McCandless is accused of raping a woman who also works there, according to charges filed by McCandless police.

McCandless police charged Diosdado Anvene Ele, 33, of Pittsburgh’s Hazelwood neighborhood on March 30 with felony counts of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault.

According to a criminal complaint, a woman told police the incident happened March 12 at Ridgecrest Senior Living and Memory Care. It was reported to police on March 19.

A Ridgecrest representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment. No information concerning Anvene Ele’s employment status at Ridgecrest was provided in the complaint.

He had not been arraigned on the charges as of March 31, according to court records, which did not list an attorney.

The woman, whose age was not provided, is described as having “diminished mental capabilities” and has someone who is hired to help her. Because of her mental disability, she is incapable of consent, the complaint states.

McCandless Detective Richard Cerrillos interviewed the woman March 19 at Ridgecrest, followed by a forensic interview March 24 at the Child Advocacy Center at UPMC Children’s Hospital.

According to the complaint, the woman knew Anvene Ele as “Dee” and said she had met him while working at Ridgecrest.

During the interview at Ridgecrest, the woman told police that Anvene Ele had touched her, exposed himself, made her touch him and raped her in the dishwashing room, according to the complaint. She had told him “no” several times and told him to stop, and made the incident stop by pushing him away.

During the forensic interview, the woman said Anvene Ele raped her in the shower of a women’s bathroom by a pool and that the rest of the incident happened in the dishwashing area, the complaint states.

The woman told police she told a chef what had happened but did not know the person’s name. On March 23, a person at Ridgecrest, whose position was not provided, told police the woman told her about the incident on March 13, after which she took the woman out of the dishwashing room and assigned her to work elsewhere.

When the other person at Ridgecrest asked Anvene Ele about what had happened, he “denied everything,” the complaint states.

According to the complaint, the incident was reported to a series of supervisors at Ridgecrest. Police then learned another woman working at Ridgecrest had reported that Anvene Ele had tried several times to kiss her.
