Chloe Borelli went 3 for 5 with four RBIs to lead Mt. Pleasant to a 9-4 victory over Deer Lakes in Section 1-3A softball Wednesday.

Borelli’s two run-double keyed a four-run third inning for the Vikings (3-1, 2-0), who had fallen behind 3-0 early. Emma Miller singled, doubled and drove in a run, Jenna Whipkey had a double and three RBIs and Sadie Poole went 3 for 3 for Mt. Pleasant.

Joey Adams homered and drove in two runs and Ava Shea and Riley Jones doubled for the Lancers (3-2, 1-1).

Armstrong 14, Gateway 1 – Josie Porter homered and drove in three runs, Isabel Prazenica doubled twice and knocked in five and Lily Gutherie had two hits and four RBIs for Armstrong (5-2, 5-0) in a Section 2-5A win. Addison Hiltgen singled and scored for Gateway (1-4, 0-4).

Cabell Midland (WV) 14, Beaver 1 – Winning pitcher Drea Watts struck out 10 and had three hits and two RBIs at the plate to lead Cabell Midland (WV) in Myrtle Beach. Bridget Mayo singled and drove in a run for Beaver (3-2).

Plum 14, Penn Hills 1 – Winning pitcher Riley Stephans struck out 13 in five innings and helped her own cause with a single, home run and four RBIs in a Section 1-5A win for Plum (4-2, 2-2). Lily Deluca singled, homered and drove in three and Makenzie Marotta also hit a home run. Jaiden Gentile singled, doubled and drove in two and Brooke Bernosky went 3 for 3 with a double for the Mustangs. Addison Helsel homered for Penn Hills (0-5, 0-4).

Flag football

North Catholic 18, Hampton 14 – Gabby Valentine threw TD passes to Katelyn Phillips and Ava Vangura and Simone Sharpless scored a rushing touchdown to lead North Catholic to a Section 1 victory.

Plum 31, Latrobe 14 – Tamia West had 72 yards receiving, 63 yards rushing, three touchdowns and an interception on defense to lead Plum (6-0) to a Section 3 win. Isla Filo ran for 58 yards and a touchdown, Kaiden Young threw for 160 yards an three scores, Hayden Wawryzniak picked off two passes and Brooke Dugas made eight flag tackles and intercepted a pass for the Mustangs.

Girls lacrosse

Mars 20, North Catholic 0 – Anna McGrath scored four goals and Hailey Long added three to lead North Catholic to a Section 2-2A win. Lucy Balazs, Katie Blake, Makenna Weaver, Ella DePaoli and Reanna Schmitt each had two goals and Sydney Truver, Tess McGrath and Lily Wilson also scored.

Boys volleyball

Derry 3, Armstrong 2 – Caden Marsh had 18 kills, Jackson Hayes added 15 and Jaiden Beeman had 12 to lead Derry to a nonsection win. John Kerin recorded 39 digs and Landon Campbell doled out 40 assists for the Trojans.

Penn-Trafford 3, Franklin Regional 0 – Ethan McDonald recorded 15 kills and Billy Spena finished with 34 assists and six digs to lead Penn-Trafford to a Section 3-3A win. Blake Fasso, Brayden Tirpak, Matthew Eguajoe and Owen Hodge added five kills apiece for the Warriors.
