Jesus declared “I came to bear witness to the truth.” Pilate asked “What is truth?” and chose to wash his hands to let the mob determine Jesus’ fate. But what motivated the people to crucify the truth? The chief priests and Sanhedrin knew of Jesus’ innocence, but nevertheless chose to manipulate their people to achieve Jesus’ destruction for a simple but disturbing reason. Power.
Today’s politicians are not that different. The people are told to deny that the border was essentially open and immigrant crime was significant in exchange for their political leader’s perceptions. These “untruths”were used to control the “mob” into compliance.
Donald Trump is far from a Christ-like figure, but, like Christ, his public destruction was nevertheless required by his political opponents to maintain control. The Russia investigation , impeachments and legal suits were all tools used by the political establishment to thwart Trump’s efforts.
But it’s not about Trump. It’s about a system that manipulates public opinion to maintain control. Currently, the power mongers insist that our citizens are too naive to understand the need of voter identification, when IDs are required by law for the simplest of tasks. The identification requirement threatens the ability to manipulate the vote and eventually the outcome. This position is taken despite the overwhelming support for voter identification by both parties’ constituents.
Remember, like the mob following the Sanhedrin, there is a purpose to the establishment message, but that message isn’t always to the benefit of the people. Better to seek the truth because the mob mentality can be fatal.
