Bria Bosiljevac threw a complete-game two-hit shutout with 18 strikeouts to lead Shaler to an 11-0 victory over New Castle in Section 1-5A softball Friday.

Alyssa Schaffold went 3 for 4 with a double, homer and five RBIs, Taylor London doubled, homered and knocked in four runs and Haley Machajewski singled and doubled for the Titans (7-1, 5-0). Aliyah Stalczynski and Zoe Shields had hits for the Red Hurricanes (6-2, 3-2).

Waynesburg 7, California 0 – Gina Tedrow threw a complete-game three-hit shutout with 15 strikeouts and went 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI to lead Waynesburg (4-2, 1-1) to a Section 4-2A win. Ellie Makel went 3 for 4 and Eva Pester drove in a pair of runs for the Raiders. Madyson Morton doubled for California (0-4, 0-1).

Jefferson-Morgan 16, Mapletown 0 – Emilee Bazzoli threw a three-inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts and went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs to lead Jefferson-Morgan (6-1, 3-0) to a Section 2-A win over Mapletown (1-3, 0-2). Gabby Marmie went 3 for 3 with two RBIs and Kallyn Novak doubled and drove in a run for the Rockets.

Laurel 6, Shenango 2 – Lexi Krol had two hits and two RBIs, Alexis Bair had two hits and drove in a run and Riley Balcolm allowed five hits in seven innings to earn the win for Laurel (2-1, 2-1) in Section 1-2A. Addison Downing homered for Shenango (5-1, 1-1).

Penfield (NY) 3, Beaver 2 – Ella Maley tripled and drove in a run to lead Penfield (NY) to a win in Myrtle Beach. For Beaver (3-3), Sydney Springer doubled and Olivia Peabody and Lily Bixler each drove in a run.

Yough 7, Ligonier Valley 2 – Winning pitcher Jaidyn Vay struck out nine and went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI to lead Yough (7-2, 2-0) to a Section 1-3A victory. Anna Linder went 4 for 4 with an RBI and Kylee Fisher singled, doubled and drove in a run for the Cougars. Marlee Miller led Ligonier Valley (2-3, 1-1) with a single, double and two RBIs.

Baseball

Belle Vernon 10, California 0 – Maddox Ceccarelli threw a six-inning, three-hit shutout with five strikeouts to lead Belle Vernon (4-2) to a nonsection win over California (2-2). Nate Kostelnik singled, doubled and drove in a run, Jordan Jerome had a double and an RBI and Jack Edwards singled and plated a pair for the Leopards.

Freeport 13, Karns City 3 – Marco Wolfe went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs to lead Freeport (7-0) to a nonsection victory. Winning pitcher Ashton Bricker went 2 for 4 with a triple and a pair of RBIs for the Yellowjackets.

Kiski School 4, Hill School 0 – Cy Zufall threw six scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out 11, to lead Kiski School (1-0) to its first victory over Hill School of Pottstown in 25 years. Tyler Faust pitched a scoreless seventh with two strikeouts and had three hits, including a double, for Kiski School.

Shenango 6, Quaker Valley 4 – Trey Ross went 2 for 2 with two doubles and two RBIs and Christian Anterock singled, tripled and plated a pair of runs to lead Shenango (5-1) to a nonsection win. Henry Zupanc doubled, tripled and drove in a run for Quaker Valley (1-2).

Boys lacrosse

Latrobe 9, Plum 4 – Jack Majcher scored three goals, and Kevin DiMatteo netted one in a nonsection loss for Plum (4-3).
