A Pittsburgh man convicted on child pornography charges has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison.

Justin Hughes, 45, pleaded guilty in November to one count of distributing child pornography. As part of the plea agreement, federal prosecutors dropped three additional counts related to sexual depictions of minors.

In 2022, Hughes emailed 11 videos and one image of child pornography to a person in Ohio, leading to his indictment a year later.

A federal judge in Pittsburgh sentenced Hughes on Thursday.

Hughes already was a registered sex offender in Pennsylvania due to his 2008 conviction for aggravated indecent assault of a child.

He was also ordered to serve 10 years of probation upon release and pay a victim $4,000 in restitution.
