Residents made a day of an Easter egg hunt in Upper Burrell’s Lincoln Beach neighborhood on Saturday.

Festivities were organized by Community Revitalization Mission of Service, a nonprofit serving the Lincoln Beach community. Treasurer Julianne Vilca said it had been years since there was an Easter egg hunt in the community, and Saturday’s was the first for the organization.

In addition to plastic eggs filled with chocolate and candy spread across Howard’s Field for children to collect, the event included arts and crafts, a ball pit and food including pizza, chips, cookies and drinks.

While there were costumed characters of the Easter Bunny and an Easter egg, a real bunny, Sparkles, made an appearance, but was more comfortable seeking shelter from the sun under a table.
