An Ohio man faces a felony charge of carrying a firearm without a license after a gun was found in his carry-on bag at Pittsburgh International Airport on Saturday.

According to Allegheny County Police, Joshua Neil Seese, 49, of Lowellville, Ohio was charged after Transportation Security Administration officers saw a handgun in his carry-on bag at the airport’s main security checkpoint shortly after 3 p.m.

County police were alerted and found Seese did not possess a valid concealed carry permit.

Police did not say if the gun was loaded or if Seese was carrying ammunition. An image of the gun did not show any ammunition.

Seese was arraigned Sunday and released on his own recognizance, according to court records. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 20.

It was the second gun a passenger was found carrying at the airport’s security checkpoint in a little over a week.

According to county police, the gun was a snub nose revolver with five bullets.

Landis is scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 27, according to court records.

Passengers who bring firearms into an airport security checkpoint can face federal civil fines from the Transportation Security Administration up to $10,000. Repeated offenders can be fined up to $13,910.
