Two people were hurt and a firefighter needed medical attention after a vehicle crashed into a house and caught fire in Pittsburgh’s Perry South neighborhood Saturday night.
The incident in the 600 block of Danbury Street was reported around 11:15 p.m., Pittsburgh Public Safety said.
According to public safety, the driver told officers he lost control of his vehicle after trying to avoid an object in the road. The object was not identified.
The vehicle collided with and came to a stop in the side of the house. The vehicle then caught fire and the fire spread to the home, causing damage.
The extent of the damage to the home was not detailed.
The driver and a passenger were taken to a hospital in stable condition with minor injuries, public safety said.
A firefighter reported shortness of breath and was checked by paramedics at the scene. He returned to to his duties within a short time, public safety said.
Public safety said the incident appeared accidental and no charges were expected.
