A Pittsburgh man has been arrested on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including aggravated assault.

Larry Jerome Jones Jr., 26, was arrested Sunday in connection to a shooting Wednesday in the 3300 block of Fleming Avenue in the city’s Brighton Heights neighborhood.

Jones is charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault, carrying a firearm without a license and reckless endangerment, court documents said.

Officers from Pittsburgh police, fire and emergency medical services had been dispatched to Brighton Heights just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a male shooting victim.

Upon arriving, officers found a male in the street, near the intersection of Antrim Street. The victim has multiple gunshot wounds and officers immediately began medical aid, the police blotter said.

Police said the man was conscious, alert and speaking with officers and medics.

He was transported by medics to an area hospital in serious condition. The victim has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Officials from the city’s Real-Time Crime Center, which is a law enforcement technology hub, said that most of the individuals involved came from the same residence, the complaint said.

City cameras captured parts of the incident. Video footage showed a shirtless male with an AR-style firearm chasing a woman, wearing all red into the Fleming Avenue residence, police said.

Witnesses inside the residence told police Jones had left in a silver-colored Lincoln. Police located the car nearby and detained both the driver and Jones, who was a passenger in the vehicle.

Both men were transported to the police station.

A firearm was located underneath a vehicle next to the passenger side of the vehicle, the complaint said.

Crime Scene Unit detectives recovered the firearm and identified it was a Derya Arms .22 long rifle. Officers found spent shell casings from a .22 long were located on the sidewalk out front of the residence, court document said.

According to the report, the shooting victim identified his brother, Jones, as the man who shot him.

A witness told police he had gone to Jones’ house to change the spark plug on his motorcycle, but once he arrived at the residence everyone inside was intoxicated.

The witness told police that a fight had broken out between Jones’ girlfriend and sister on the sidewalk. He then saw Jones come out of the house with a pistol and walk toward the group, the complaint said.

According to court documents, the witness said he heard gunshots, but did not realize anyone was shot until the victim tried to walk down the street.

The witness said he called 911 and Jones fled the scene, according to the report.

Police said the firearm was run through the National Crime Information Center, which is a computerized database operated by the FBI, and no record of the gun was found.

Officers also found that Jones did not have a concealed carry permit, the complaint said.

After being arrested Jones was transported to the Allegheny County Jail. He was denied bail, court documents said. Jones is awaiting his preliminary hearing scheduled for April 16.

He did not have an attorney listed on court documents Monday morning.
