Over the past few weeks, since a disappointing 2025-26 men’s basketball campaign ended, Pitt has absorbed blow after blow, with a total of five players from last season’s team opting to hit the transfer portal.
On Tuesday, guard Omari Witherspoon became the latest of the bunch, which includes Roman Siulepa, Brandin Cummings, Papa Amadou Kante and Kieran Mullen.
Also Tuesday, the Panthers suffered a loss on the recruiting trail as four-star forward Anthony Felesi backed off his national letter of intent.
Draft Express first reported that Felesi, who signed with Pitt on Nov. 13, would be reversing course.

Felesi is a 6-foot-5 player from Hurricane, Utah, whom 247Sports ranks as a top-100 player and No. 1 recruit within his class from his home state.
Together with fellow four-star commits Chase Foster and Jermal Jones, Felesi had been part of an incoming Panthers 2026 recruiting class that 247Sports listed as No. 13 in the nation.
