In his professional debut, goaltender Gabriel D’Aigle made 16 saves on 19 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 4-2 loss to the Cincinnati Cyclones at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va. on Tuesday.

The result snapped a season-best 10-game winning streak for Wheeling (44-17-3-3).

A third-round selection (No. 84 overall) of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2025 NHL Draft, D’Aigle signed a professional tryout contract (PTO) with the Nailers for the remainder of the season earlier in the day.

At 19 years and 137 days, D’Aigle became the second-youngest player in franchise history, trailing only former Penguins goaltender Tomas Vokoun, who debuted with the team when it was known as the Wheeling Thunderbirds during the 1995-96 season at the age of 19 years and 104 days.

Forward Max Graham and defenseman Emil Pieniniemi each scored goals for the Nailers.

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Reading Royals on Friday, 7 p.m.
