‘Walkable festival’
The music crawl on Wednesday night is just one part of the walkable festival, which will be centered in and around the North Shore and Downtown Pittsburgh, according to Visit Pittsburgh.
Connecting the North Shore to Downtown will be a pedestrian pathway, which will have almost 100 local buskers, street performers, photo ops and more.
From Thursday through Saturday of draft week, Visit Pittsburgh said there will be live entertainment, interactive experiences and a Steelers-themed bar in Market Square. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday.
“Activations range from Pittsburgh miniature golf and live blacksmithing demonstrations by Rivers of Steel to prizes, games and can’t-miss selfie stations,” the announcement said.
Also from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Arts Landing is set to transform into a Pitt Block Party, a free celebration hosted in partnership with Pitt Athletics and Pittsburgh’s Cultural Trust.
The party will include an immersive football experience with the Pitt Football museum, an interactive draft showcase highlighting Panther greats, live music, food trucks, local vendors and a dedicated activity zone.
“Arts Landing is a transformational civic space built to bring people together,” said Kendra Whitlock Ingram, president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
On the final day of the NFL Draft, Saturday, April 25, P3R will host the PicksBURGH Draft Day 5K, which will run through the North Shore and Downtown, crossing the 16th Street/David McCullough Bridge in the process.
