Help needed for Apollo cemetery cleanup

Apollo Area Lions Club will sponsor a cleanup day Saturday at Historic Apollo Cemetery in Kiski Township.

The cemetery sits behind Riverview Cemetery at the end of Highland Avenue. Volunteers are needed and should arrive at 9:30 a.m. Bring work gloves, rakes and small tools, if possible. Tasks will include cleaning up debris and light landscaping. Come for an hour or for the whole morning.


Super bingo set for April 19 at Laube Hall

A super bingo will begin to benefit three local nonprofits will begin at 3 p.m. April 19 at Laube Hall, Freeport.

There will be $5,000 in guaranteed payouts including a $500 jackpot game, a $1,000 jackpot game, specials that pay $300 each and regular games that pay $150 each, as well as pull tabs, chuck-a-luck and a 50-50. Food and drinks will be sold. BYOB.

Proceeds will be donated to Dynamic Community Foundation, Freeport Community Park and the K9 units of Southern Armstrong Regional Police Department.

Bingo fundraiser to include preview of musical

The St. Joseph High School drama department will sponsor a bingo fundraiser to benefit the high school’s musical production Saturday at Patterson Hall of Guardian Angels Parish, Harrison.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and bingo will begin at 6. Admission is $5 and includes a light meal and a sneak peek from this year’s production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” There will be 18 games with cards priced from $1 to $5 each and a basket raffle. Snacks, drinks, 50-50s, strip tickets and paint sticks will be sold.
