The Pittsburgh Pirates unveiled their 2026 City Connect uniform Thursday, all-black jerseys with gold lettering designed to “embody the grit, toughness, and pride” that define the city and its people.

The City Connect uniforms, in partnership with Nike, feature detailing that pay homage to the Pirates nickname and includes nods to the city such as the three sister bridges on the Allegheny River outside the ballpark, including the Roberto Clemente Bridge, and a sharp red accent on the bandana of the Jolly Roger mascot on the sleeve.

New Era offers two hat variations, with the primary in gold with a black brim, and the secondary in black with a gold brim. Each displays a unique Jolly Roger logo with swords in the background. The new uniforms will be worn for the first time April 17, when the Pirates play host to the Tampa Bay Rays at PNC Park. The Pirates will wear the new uniforms for every Friday home game throughout the 2026 season.

“We believe this collaboration with Nike captures the same intensity our fans bring to PNC Park,” Pirates president Travis Williams said in a statement. “This version of our City Connect jersey is rooted in the colors that connect our city, our people and our team. They represent the same grit as our hardworking, proud and determined community. These are confident colors, but not arrogant ones. They reflect a city that expects to compete and expects to win. The design is simple and powerful, while the accents and details are subtle in a way that feels uniquely Pirates and distinctly Pittsburgh.”

Pirates City Connect merchandise will be available at the Pirates Fanatics Clubhouse Store at PNC Park, Nike App and Nike.com, MLBShop.com, MLB Flagship Store (NYC) and NewEraCap.com.
