The Yough School Board is looking for someone to fill a vacancy left by a former member who resigned last week.

Gregg Nogy resigned April 1, said board President Linda Knor. Nogy served on the board for multiple terms, Knor said. She declined to disclose the reason for his resignation.

District Superintendent Anthony DeMaro did not return a phone call and email seeking comment. Nogy did not respond to a message sent via social media.

Those interested in applying to fill the vacancy must submit a letter of interest to the district by 3:30 p.m. Friday. Letters can be emailed to board Secretary James Meyer, meyerj@youghsd.net.

Nogy’s term was set to expire in December 2027, according to the school board’s website. The person selected to fill the vacancy will serve on the board until 2027. If they wish to continue serving on the board, they will need to file as a candidate in the 2027 local election.

Nogy served on the board’s technology, buildings and grounds and student activities committees and chaired the transportation committee, according to the website.
