Fundraisers
• Jeannette Knights of Columbus hosts bingo at 7 p.m. Fridays in Mersinger Hall at Ascension Church, 615 Division St., Jeannette. Doors open at 6 p.m. and early birds begin at 6:30 p.m. Players younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Smoke-free venue. Food will be available and there will be a 50-50 and instant bingos. • Symphony East will host a fundraiser for the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra April 20 at the Lamplighter Restaurant, 6566 Route 22, Salem. A buffet lunch will be at 11:45 a.m. Cost: $40. Paid reservations required by April 17. Music after the lunch will feature Trio Granata from the Pittsburgh Festival Orchestra. • Irwin Senior Activity Center, 310 Oak St., will have a program at 10 a.m. April 14 about how your brain works as you get older. Veterans News
• A veterans service officer will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 15 in the office of state Rep. Jill Cooper, 105 Pfeffer Road, suite 5, Washington Township. Services available will include disability and pension claims, benefit questions, assisting spouses with survivor benefits issues and applications for veterans grants.
