Of all the draft prospects to earn invites to the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex this spring, none is bigger than one who was hosted Friday.
That’s because no draft-eligible player is taller than Memphis offensive tackle Travis Burke, who was one of three guests of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Burke was joined by Texas cornerback Malik Muhammad and LSU linebacker Harold Perkins as those who made official pre-draft visits to the Steelers facility. Each player is projected to be selected in the middle rounds of the April 23-25 draft to be held in Pittsburgh.
Burke finished at Memphis after two college seasons each at Gardner-Webb and Florida International. He made 46 starts over the past four seasons — 29 at left tackle and 24 at right tackle. Last season, though, Burke played almost exclusively on the right side, and he was honored as first-team all-American Athletic Conference.
At the NFL Combine, Burke weighed in at 325 pounds with 34½-inch arms — among the longest of those who measured — and 10 1/8-inch hands.
Travis Burke might be the most violent finisher in the 2026 OL class.
6’9, 325 and you’re getting 5–7 knockdowns a game — not cleanup, not scheme…
full-body, torque drive finishes.

Muhammad (6-0, 182) was second-team all-SEC last season, his second as a starter for Texas. Over three college seasons, Muhammad had three interceptions and 16 pass-breakups.
Perkins entered college as one of the most heavily-recruited high school prospects, and he was a freshman all-America and second-team all-SEC in 2022. But after a pair of 70-plus tackle seasons, Perkins suffered a knee injury in 2024. Last year, he was third-team all-SEC while posting 56 tackles, including eight or loss and four sacks.
The Steelers, as things stand now, hold 12 selections in the seven-round draft. It would not be surprising if they take at least one player each at offensive tackle, cornerback and inside linebacker.
With the draft less than two weeks away, official so-called “top 30” visits to the Steelers are expected to ramp down soon. Each team is allotted 30, though exceptions are made for those who are deemed local prospects.
