The countdown to Blue-White continues.

Penn State’s Blue-White practice is set for April 25 at Beaver Stadium. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.

That means Matt Campbell’s Nittany Lions are roughly halfway through spring drills.

Here are a few PSU questions and storylines to keep an eye on leading up to the April 25 practice.

PSU’s shorthanded quarterback room

Veteran Rocco Becht, who made 39 starts at Iowa State, is the guy for the Lions in the fall. But Becht is coming off a pair of shoulder injuries and is not participating in live drills.

Projected backup Alex Manske, a promising redshirt freshman, is out while dealing with an undisclosed issue.

Campbell, offensive coordinator Taylor Mouser and quarterbacks coach Jake Waters are getting an extending look at the other quarterbacks on the roster, notably veteran transfer Connor Barry and first-year January enrollees Peyton Falzone and Kase Evans.

Those extra reps for Penn State’s unproven quarterbacks are a plus for them. But what about the rest of the offense?

Progress at wideout?

Campbell said earlier in spring he is excited about the upside of a few second-year receivers — Iowa State transfers Karon Brookins and Zay Robinson and PSU sophomore returnee Koby Howard.

But Cyclones veteran transfer wideouts Brett Eskildsen and Chance Sowell, who were a big part of Iowa State’s pass offense last season, are also coming off injuries.

They won’t be able to continue to build their connection with Becht until August.

An overlooked offensive lineman?

That could be Iowa State transfer Trevor Buhr.

There has been plenty of buzz around returning Penn State vets Anthony Donkoh and Cooper Cousins and younger Lions Malachi Goodman, Owen Aliciene and Garrett Sexton.

Plus, Texas State transfer Brock Riker, now a redshirt sophomore, is arguably the one to beat out at center.

But the 6-foot-4, 321-pound Buhr has made a total of 12 starts at guard for Iowa State over the last two seasons. He has the talent and experience to be one of Penn State’s starting five up front.

The January guys

Penn State’s list of 2026 signees practicing in spring stands at 11.

In addition to Falzone and Evans, the early enrollees include defensive backs Christian Askew, Tyrell Chatman, Bryson Williams and Josiah Zayas; wide receivers Amarion Jackson and Ben Whitver; defensive lineman Jackson Ford; offensive lineman Mason Bandhauer; and running back D’Antae Sheffey.

Are any of them showing signs of being able to contribute this season?
