Police seeking man after alleged indecent exposure

Pittsburgh police are seeking help from the public to locate a man accused of exposing himself in the city’s Uptown section.

The incident happened April 8 at the Shell Gas Station on Fifth Avenue.

The man is accused of exposing his genitals to an employee before fleeing the store.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 412-255-2827.


Charges to be filed after gun flashed at PPS student

Pittsburgh police took two people into custody Friday after one of them flashed a weapon toward children on a playground in the Allegheny Center section of the city.

Charges are expected to be filed, public safety officials said.

The incident happened at about 2:45 p.m. near Montgomery Place, outside of Pittsburgh King PreK-8.

Pittsburgh Public Schools provided a statement to TribLive news partner WTAE, saying the incident involved a man and woman who were trying to take a district-issued bike.

“At the time, the student was outside with a group of students riding bikes under adult supervision,” PPS said in the statement. “A staff member quickly intervened, prompting the individuals to flee.”

No shot were reported.

The school security guard was able to provide a description of the couple and police took them into custody. The firearm was recovered.

As a precaution, students were brought inside the building and the school was placed in a secure mode while the situation was investigated.


Bigelow Boulevard outbound lane to temporarily close

A section of outbound Bigelow Boulevard will close Sunday for tree removal.

The road will be shut down from Herron Avenue to the Bloomfield Bridge from 7 to 9 a.m.

Emergency vehicles and buses will still have access while forestry crews from the Pittsburgh Public Works cut trees.


Traffic restrictions in Bethel Park

Motorists who travel on Stoltz Road in Bethel Park will deal with single-lane traffic restrictions beginning Monday.

PennDOT officials said work will happen overnight, from 6 p.m to 6 a.m. between Library Road and Berryman Road.

The drainage installation project is scheduled to run through early May.

A. Folino Construction is the contractor. The $3.49 million group-paving project includes milling and paving, drainage, line striping and other work.
