To date, the transfer portal has been a one-way door for Pitt, which recently has seen the vast majority of its roster from last season depart the program.

But Saturday afternoon, Pitt received its first reinforcement, as Brigham Young forward Dominique Diomande announced a commitment to the Panthers on Instagram.

Diomande, a 6-foot-7 native of Paris, played a reserve role with the Cougars in 2025-26, appearing in 24 games, all off the bench, averaging 7.2 minutes per contest.

He averaged 1.9 points, 1.3 rebounds and shot 45.9% from the floor in limited action.

Pitt will be the third collegiate stop for Diomande, as he spent 2024-25 at Washington, where he redshirted and did not see any action.

In France, he played in 26 games for ADA Blois of the Pro A under-21 league, averaging 16 points, six rebounds and two assists per night.

Diomande also played 14 games for ADA Blois’ senior team in the Betclic Elite, France’s top pro league.

While Diomande is now onboard, the Panthers have plenty more work to do in the portal to replace the production of departed players Roman Siulepa, Brandin Cummings, Nojus Indrusaitis, Omari Witherspoon, Papa Amadou Kante and Kieran Mullen.

Minus that bunch, only soon-to-be sophomore guard Macari Moore remains on roster for coach Jeff Capel as a scholarship player from a season ago who appeared in any games.
