Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC had its four-match unbeaten streak snapped Sunday after a 1-0 loss to Birmingham Legion FC at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Ala.
The Hounds fell to 2-3-1.
Sebastian Tregarthen scored in the first half for the Legion (1-2-2), which won for the second time in 13 meetings with the Hounds.
Both teams had 10 shots, but the Hounds only had one on target.
Robbie Mertz was the Hounds man of the match after playing all 90 minutes. He won possession a team-leading 10 times, had 10 crosses and connected on 12 of 14 passes.
The Hounds return to action in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 at MLS club Red Bull New York on Wednesday.
The Riverhounds have never faced RBNY but hold a 3-2 record against MLS teams since 2023.
