Penn-Trafford on Monday night hired new head coaches in wrestling and field hockey.
Nate Smith was promoted from assistant to head wrestling coach, replacing Travis McKillop, who resigned after four seasons.
Karlee Rubright, meantime, was named head field hockey coach. She takes the reins from accomplished veteran coach Cindy Dutt, who is retiring after 22 years.
Rubright is a seventh grade teacher at Penn Middle School. She was an assistant under Dutt and also coaches Penn-Trafford middle school softball.
Smith is a former Franklin Regional standout who went on to become an All-American at Pitt-Johnstown.
Dutt started the program in 2003.
Rubright will try to uphold the winning tradition instilled by Dutt.
Penn-Trafford won eight consecutive WPIAL 2A titles — nine overall — under Dutt’s guidance from 2016-23.
