With only three weeks remaining in the regular season in most districts, it seems that statewide, high school baseball has turned into a wild game of musical chairs.
Once another week concludes, will the elite teams across Pennsylvania be relaxing in a victory chair, or when the music stops, will they be left standing trying to figure out how they lost their spot in the Trib HSSN weekly Top 5?
Eight of the 30 teams from last week dropped out of this week’s state rankings with a loss or multiple losses.
That includes the wild and crazy Class 5A, where turnover appears to be a rule of thumb.
This week, three teams dropped out, leaving the door open for three new teams to see how long they can last in the Top 5.
While there has been plenty of movement up and down the six classifications, the top remains the same with Spring-Ford in 6A, Lampeter-Strasburg in 5A, Indiana in 4A, Mount Carmel in 3A, Faith Christian in 2A and Southern Fulton in A all still at No. 1.
