Hempfield nonprofit Sage’s Army marked its 14th anniversary this week with a celebration at its headquarters on Route 30.
Founder Carmen Capozzi lost his son, Sage, to an opioid overdose in 2012. He atarted Sage’s Army shortly afterward. It quickly grew from a Facebook page into a nonprofit recovery community group that provides nonclinical support for people and families fighting substance abuse.
The group offers a 24/7 help line, Narcan distribution and training, awareness and education outreach, certified recovery specialists, advocacy and support groups.
