After seeing on the news that the Allegheny County commissioners voted to defy federal law enforcement agencies and grant foreign criminals a safe sanctuary, it occurred to me we should call on our commissioners to follow suit and declare Westmoreland County a safe haven for certain other types of criminals who are deemed by some to be victims of offensive federal laws as well.
First, we can start with people who cheat on their taxes. Why should they be punished when they are only trying to provide financial support for their families and don’t qualify for government free stuff?
Second, we should not prosecute convicted felons or aliens who lie on criminal background check forms when attempting to purchase a firearm. They have a right to protect their loved ones as well.
Lastly, individuals should not have to prove that they are legal residents or even citizens of the United States in order to vote. These undocumented voters are just trying to cast out the evil conservative right-wing politicians who oppose open borders and a socialist one-world government.
Also, in the event leftist politicians fail to prevent a criminal from being nabbed by the feds, he or she should not be imprisoned, deported or otherwise torn away from their children like the guy in Sewickley. Any law-breaking parent should be granted immunity from the law.
If we are going to pick and choose which laws to enforce or not enforce, let us at least grant the same equal protection to American criminals that we provide to alien criminals.
