The Homestead location of Painted Tree Boutiques at The Waterfront closed its doors Tuesday along with the more than 60 locations nationwide.
A retail chain that leased space to local vendors and artisans, the Arkansas-based company abruptly announced it would shutter this week.
The Homestead store’s general manager, Eric Williams, said the announcement came as a surprise on Tuesday. The location was the only one in Pennsylvania.
Williams said the location had been there for more than two years. The storefront had previously been a Bed Bath and Beyond before that company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2023.
Vendors who still have inventory at the Homestead location have until April 24 to pick up their merchandise, Williams said.
