Greensburg resident Amy Fiaschetti is living out her dream of owning a boutique.
Fiaschetti and her two daughters, Rachel Mormack and Madison Swan, will open Moss & Rain Boutique on Saturday in downtown Greensburg.
“I love clothes, and then having two girls, I passed that on (to them),” said Fiaschetti, 54. “I like the idea of having a smaller store — a one-on-one personal relationship with your customers, getting to know them, getting to know they like a certain style.”
The family will run the boutique part-time while continuing to work their full-time jobs. Fiaschetti is an executive assistant at the Saint Vincent Archabbey, Mormack works in the Westmoreland County Courthouse probation office and Swan works as a nurse for Independence Health.
Mormack, 28, of Latrobe discovered in February the boutique location, which formerly housed Garcia Jewelers. Swan, 31, of Greensburg came up with the name, using outdoorsy words that matched the initials of her and her sister’s first names.
The store’s logo — a moon with three raindrops hanging from it — also represents the family. The raindrops symbolize Fiaschetti’s grandchildren — Maizey, Tugg and another baby on the way. The moon represents her husband, who died in August 2024.
The boutique will rotate its selections on a seasonal basis, Fiaschetti said. It aims to provide shoppers of all ages with comfortable, stylish pieces. One of the highlights of the boutique, she said, is the brand Judy Blue Jeans.
“They are a great fit. They’re soft, and there’s not a whole lot of people in the area that sell them,” Fiaschetti said. “I’m hoping that will pull the Seton Hill girls.”
Downtown Greensburg is a perfect fit for the boutique, Swan said.
“It’s so up and coming. It’s fun. There’s other cute businesses that we like to support,” she said. “Everyone down here is very supportive — all the other business owners. We want to be like them.”
A grand opening for the boutique — located at 104 S. Pennsylvania Ave. — will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Free coffee, provided by Rooted Coffee, will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first 125 visitors will receive a free beverage.
Following the opening, the boutique will operate 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. It will remain open until 9 p.m. during the Greensburg Night Market events.
