The win avenged a 6-5 loss to Shenango on April 9 that snapped a 57-game winning streak for the Lancers (8-1, 6-1). Jaylyn Herman went 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs for the Wildcats (10-3, 6-3).
Armstrong 10, Gateway 0 – Natalie Zeigler threw a five-inning no-hitter with six strikeouts to lead Armstrong (9-4, 9-2) past Gateway (4-7, 2-7) in Section 2-5A. Isabel Prazenica homered and Sydney Krukar had two hits and three RBIs for the River Hawks.
Avonworth 19, Beaver Falls 2 – Reese Long drove in four runs, Ali Linhart brought in three and winning pitcher Anna Fowler tossed four no-hit innings and struck out nine as Avonworth (7-4, 5-1) cruised to a Section 2-3A win over Beaver Falls (1-4, 0-4). Alexandra Savatt doubled and plated a run for the Antelopes.
Bethel Park 14, Albert Gallatin 9; Bethel Park 11, Albert Gallatin 1 – Bethel Park (5-9, 2-6) swept Albert Gallatin (0-12, 0-11) in Section 4-5A.
In Game 1, Ellery Stipp homered and drove in four runs, Courtney Roberts went 3 for 5 with a double and three RBIs, Julia Bitkowski tripled and plated two runs and Brooke Priddy knocked in one while Ella Coley picked up a win for the Black Hawks. Mackenzie Chapman went 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Colonials.
In Game 2, Madison Timms brought in three runs, Bitkowski tripled, doubled and had two RBIs and Stipp doubled and drove in a run for the Black Hawks. Chapman went 3 for 3 with a double for the Colonials. Colleen Kuhn earned the win for Bethel Park.
Beth-Center 14, Avella 3 – Keira Lamp finished with three RBIs, Sarah Bader and Bella Stepp each knocked in a pair of runs and Kendall Welsh got a win as Beth-Center (4-7, 3-5) thumped Avella (0-9, 0-6) in Section 2-A. Haleigh Rush doubled and drove in a run for the Eagles.
Blackhawk 15, Ambridge 0 – Lara Selick homered and brought in two runs, Brynn Hysong and Addy Ramer each went 3 for 3 with two RBIs and Sadie Lindner and winning pitcher Kylie Prisuta each doubled and plated a run as Blackhawk (6-1, 6-0) trampled Ambridge (0-8, 0-7) in Section 3-4A.
Brentwood 10, Apollo-Ridge 4 – Ella Dusch went 3 for 3 with two doubles and an RBI, Izabella Fedunok had two hits and two RBIs and Carma Coberly also drove in two runs to lead Brentwood (5-4, 4-2) to a Section 2-2A win. Jocelyn Snyder and Mikaila Ditty homered for Apollo-Ridge (4-4, 3-2).
Burgettstown 4, Carlynton 2 – Winning pitcher Brooklyn Robinson struck out 11 and went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI and Alice Kubatka went 3 for 4 with an RBI to lead Burgettstown (7-4, 6-2) to a Section 3-2A win. Ava Kimberling drove in a run for Carlynton (2-9, 0-8).
Burrell 5, Deer Lakes 4 – Sophia Gregg hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh to lift Burrell (7-5, 5-3) past Deer Lakes (5-7, 2-6) in Section 1-3A. Gregg finished with two doubles and two RBIs and Shelby Novak got the win for the Bucs. Riley Jones doubled and plated two runs while Siena Plummer and Molly Farster each drove in a run for the Lancers.
Carmichaels 3, West Greene 1 – Winning pitcher Bailey Barnyak gave up one unearned run on no hits and struck out seven in a complete game while Carys McConnell went 3 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs as Carmichaels (8-3, 6-1) beat West Greene (9-4, 6-2) in Section 2-A.
Central Valley 8, Western Beaver 5 – Annabell St. Esprit smashed a home run and drove in three while Kaelynn Forrester and Mariana Robison each homered and knocked in two as Central Valley (3-7, 3-5) clipped Western Beaver (3-6, 1-5) in Section 3-4A. Alana Covalt doubled and plated three runs for the Golden Beavers. Mckenzie Rizor picked up the win for the Warriors.
Chartiers-Houston 14, Seton LaSalle 2 – Taryne Drilak gave up two runs, one earned, on five hits and struck out 16 in seven innings while going 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs to pace Chartiers-Houston (13-0, 7-0) in a Section 3-2A. Kiera Drilak and Aubree Randolph each drove in two runs for the Bucs. Cheyenne Lamont doubled and knocked in a run for Seton LaSalle (6-2, 4-2).

Knoch 4, Indiana 2 – Facing a 2-1 deficit in the sixth, Knoch (9-2, 8-1) got a home run from Emersyn Jones and a two-run bomb from Marlee Fraser to edge out Indiana (10-2, 9-0) in Section 1-4A. Kaila Purcell doubled and brought in a run for the Knights. Rachel Livermore homered and plated two for the Indians.

Winning pitcher Samantha Confer tossed three no-hit innings and fanned six.
Uniontown 7, Ringgold 4 – Juliet White doubled and homered, Emmaleigh Noah singled, doubled and drove in three runs and Sequoia Dunlap had a single, double and RBI to lead Uniontown (7-4, 5-4) to a Section 2-4A win. Rylee Morrison and Ally Bagnell each had two hits and an RBI for Ringgold (0-11, 0-10).
Waynesburg 15, California 0 – Winning pitcher Gina Tedrow threw a three-inning perfect game, striking out seven while going 2 for 2 at the dish with a home run and four RBIs to power Waynesburg (6-6, 3-4) to a Section 4-2A win over California (0-11, 0-8). Kolbi Rastoka homered, doubled and plated three and Ellie Makel doubled and knocked in two for the Raiders.

Chartiers-Houston 10, Charleroi 9 – Mateo Reyes hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the eighth to lift Chartiers-Houston (7-4) to a nonsection win. Julius Livingstone (two RBIs) and Parker Riggle (RBI) each singled and doubled for the Bucs. Jaxson Klinger had two doubles and two RBIs and Luke Henderson singled, doubled and drove in a run for Charleroi (5-6), which scored five in the top of the seventh.
Connellsville 4, Uniontown 0 – Chris Johnson gave up two hits and fanned eight in a complete-game shutout and Geno Farrell went 2 for 2 with an RBI as Connellsville (6-7) beat Uniontown (5-6) in nonsection play. Chandler Myers went 2 for 3 for the Red Raiders.

South Side 5, Western Beaver 3 – Cole McCoy singled and drove in three runs and Jake Ziegler doubled and scored a run to help South Side (7-3) to a nonsection win. Jackson Kisucky had two hits and an RBI for Western Beaver (6-1).
Washington 15, Monessen 0 – Caleb Patton doubled, tripled twice and drove in five runs, Noah Patton had three RBIs and winning pitcher William Callan threw three one-hit innings and had two hits and two RBIs to lead Washington (7-6) to a nonsection win. Jacob Dell doubled for Monessen (0-12).
Girls lacrosse
Mars 10, Pine-Richland 6 – Led by four goals from Anna McGrath, three from Tess McGrath, two from Hailey Long and one from Katie Blake, Mars won a nonsection matchup. Julia Lego made 10 saves for the Fightin’ Planets. Cate Gentile had two goals and an assist, Mallory Boivin also had two goals and Claire Mille and Lily Meehleib also scored for Pine-Richland.
Track and field
Slippery Rock High School Invitational – Hempfield swept the boys and girls team titles, led by winning performances from Madison Altman and Jonathan Stetchcock. Altman won the 800 and swept the 100 and 300 hurdles, breaking a meet record in the 300 with a time of 43.93 seconds. Stetchcock won the 800.
North Hills was second in the boys team race, getting wins from Cody Miller in the 400 and the 1,600 and 3,200 relay teams. Kiski Area’s Braden Miller swept the 110 and 300 hurdles. Highlands got wins from Jahmar Wright in the high jump and the 400 relay team and Canon-McMillan had champs in Tyler Marciak in the javelin and Connor Rolek in the pole vault. Avonworth/Northgate’s Savian Baptiste won the 200.
Quaker Valley was second in the girls team race, led by high jump champ Mimi Thiero and the winning 3,200 relay team. Kiski Area was third with Alaysia Bell sweeping the long jump and triple jump and Marie Roberts winning the steeplechase. North Hills saw first-place finishes from Emerson Schall in the javelin and the 1,600 relay team. Neshannock’s Kaley Cubellis won the 400 and Neighborhood Academy won the 400 relay.
