Henry Hynds went 2 for 5 with two RBIs, and Gio Spotts went 2 for 4 with an RBI for the Crusaders. Colton Cox doubled and drove in four runs for Union (2-9, 2-4).

Avonworth 10, East Allegheny 0 – Cooper Scharding, Carson Franc and Newton Coffey each pitched two innings of a six-inning no-hitter for Avonworth (10-5, 7-0) in a Section 2-3A win over East Allegheny (0-11, 0-7). Jack Dolan doubled and homered, Case Latore and Scharding each singled and doubled and Franc had three hits and two RBIs for the ‘Lopes.

Baldwin 5, Connellsville 0 – Gavin Stock gave up two hits and struck out nine in five innings while Logan Siefert and Aiden Robinson doubled to lead Baldwin (10-2, 6-1) to a Section 4-5A win over Connellsville (6-8, 2-5).

Burgettstown 4, Bentworth 1 – Blake Neak went 2 for 3 with two RBIs, Jayden Roach doubled and Matt Bredel got the win as Burgettstown (5-6, 3-4) defeated Benworth (2-9, 1-8) in Section 1-2A. Jacob Cavanaugh doubled for the Bearcats.

California 11, Frazier 6 Winning pitcher Logan Hartley went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and Weston Monticelli went 3 for 4 as California (9-3, 7-0) beat Frazier (6-6, 2-4) in Section 1-2A. Nick Porter doubled and knocked in four runs for the Commodores.

Central Valley 8, North Catholic 7 – Blake Heater homered and had two RBIs, Will Ciucci doubled and had three RBIs and Central Valley (3-8, 2-5) got the Section 1-4A win. Daniel McIntosh grounded out in the bottom of the seventh to bring home the game-winning run. Luca Guzowski doubled and had two RBIs while Adam Mashuda doubled and drove in a run for North Catholic (3-6, 1-5).

Eden Christian 10, Monessen 0 – Brady Hull and Levi DeFazio each doubled and knocked in a pair of runs and Jackson Bremmer picked up the win as Eden Christian (9-3, 7-0) blanked Monessen (0-13, 0-7) in Section 3-A. Jacob Dell doubled for the Greyhounds.

Elizabeth Forward 2, Albert Gallatin 1 – Winning pitcher JB Crovak went 2 for 3 with a double and Luke Ruskay picked up the save as Elizabeth Forward (8-5, 6-1) beat Albert Gallatin (1-10, 0-9) in Section 2-4A. Kanyon Sutton went 2 for 4 with an RBI for the Colonials.

Ellwood City 12, Beaver Falls 1 – Nate Kennedy threw five scoreless innings, recording 11 strikeouts, to lead Ellwood City (10-1, 6-1) to a Section 1-3A win. Nate Kennedy and Aaron Lake doubled for the Wolverines. Andrew Crespo went 2 for 2 for Beaver Falls (2-5, 1-5).

Fort Cherry 3, Chartiers-Houston 2 – Tyler Wolfe smacked a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to lift Fort Cherry (11-0, 7-0) past Chartiers-Houston (7-5, 5-3) in Section 1-2A. Blake Sweder doubled and Dylan Lueck got the win for the Rangers. Dominic Cumer doubled and drove in a run for the Bucs.

Greensburg Central Catholic 18, Avella 5 – Tyler Samide went 5 for 6 with two doubles, a home run and two RBIs to lead Greensburg Central Catholic (7-0, 6-0) to a Section 1-A win. Anthony Grippo had two doubles and four RBIs, while Carson Kramer went 4 for 4 with four RBIs for the Centurions. Ellsworth helped his cause by doubling and driving in two runs. John Woodward had two doubles and three RBIs for the Rockets.

Keystone Oaks 8, Brownsville 0 – Nate Rohe threw seven scoreless innings, striking out 12 and allowing three hits, to power Keystone Oaks (5-7, 3-4) to a Section 4-3A win. Rohe also doubled and had an RBI, while Brandon Kaminski had two doubles and two RBIs for the Golden Eagles. Jeremiah McDonald doubled for Brownsville (3-7, 3-6).

Mt. Pleasant 22, Southmoreland 0 – Ian Shipley hit a grand slam in the second inning, and Jordan Grieff allowed one hit in three innings as Mt. Riverside 6, Neshannock 5 – Addison Drake crushed the go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to lift Riverside (5-2, 5-2) past Neshannock (8-2, 6-2) in Section 1-2A. Drake also hit a solo home run earlier in the game and Kara Sutphen plated a run for the Panthers. Brenna Frengel and Jaidon Nogay each knocked in a run for the Lancers.

Serra Catholic 5, Jeannette 0 – Kelly Morrissey tossed a complete-game shutout, giving up two hits and striking out 15, while Alonna Morton went 2 for 3 with two RBIs as Serra Catholic (7-4, 6-0) defeated Jeannette (7-3, 5-2) in Section 3-A. Grace Stein struck out 13 in five innings and went 2 for 3 with a double for the Jayhawks.

Seton LaSalle 18, Fort Cherry 0 – Layla Chapman yielded one hit and fanned eight in five shutout innings while Cheyenne Lamont doubled and drove in four runs to lead Seton LaSalle (7-2, 5-2) to a Section 3-2A win. Mihya Duran had the lone hit for Fort Cherry (1-8, 1-8). Maya Moser and Kara Collins each drive in two runs for the Rebels.

Shaler 10, New Castle 0 – Winning pitcher Bria Bosiijevac gave up one hit and struck out eight in five shutout innings and drove in a run with a double to lead Shaler (13-1, 11-0) to a Section 1-5A win. Taylor London homered and knocked in two and Olivia Gieraltowski plated a run for the Titans. Zoe Shields produced the lone hit for New Castle (8-7, 5-6).

Shenango 11 Laurel 5 – Jaylyn Herman homered and drove in two runs, Addison Downing doubled twice and plated three and Sydney Byerly doubled and had two RBIs for Shenango (11-3, 7-3) in a Section 1-2A win. Maddie Evans went 3 for 4 with an RBI for Laurel (10-1, 9-1). Kennedi Lynn got the win for the Wildcats.

South Allegheny 6, Apollo-Ridge 1 – Taylor Bowman went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double and Emma Jackson brought home three runs as South Allegheny (11-3, 10-0) beat Apollo-Ridge (4-5, 3-3) in Section 2-2A. Mikaila Ditty doubled and drove in the only run for the Vikings. Ava Brown struck out 10 for the Gladiators.

South Park 13, Charleroi 0 – London Latorre homered and drove in a pair of runs, Kaitlyn Polk doubled and plated two runs and winning pitcher Sydney Sekely and Grace Kempton each had an RBI as South Park (12-0, 9-0) shut out Charleroi (3-8, 2-6) in Section 3-3A. Payton Huweart had the Cougars’ only hit.

Thomas Jefferson 11, Connellsville 3 – Giuliana Mendel doubled and knocked in three runs, Sophie Janosko plated two, and winning pitcher Aubrey Shaffer struck out 10 for Thomas Jefferson (10-2, 9-1) in a Section 4-5A win. Addison Smith homered and doubled for Connellsville (8-6, 4-6).

Trinity 12, Bethel Park 5 – Emma Starr doubled and drove in two runs, Elora Friend and Maddie Ray each tripled and had an RBI and Nina Christy plated a run as Trinity (12-3, 7-3) bested Bethel Park (5-10 2-7) in Section 4-5A. Sia Spano doubled twice and had two RBIs and Courtney Roberts doubled and knocked in two for the Black Hawks.

Union 17, Sewickley Academy 0 – Irelyn Fisher homered, doubled twice and drove in five runs, Neveah Hunt homered and plated three runs and Olivia Benedict and Olivia Williams each doubled and drove in two runs as Union (10-1, 9-0) beat Sewickley Academy (6-2, 5-2) in Section 1-A. Layla Miller had the only hit for the Panthers. Sarah Straley got the win for the Scotties.

Uniontown 14, Oakland Catholic 2 – Winning pitcher Emmaleigh Noah went 3 for 4 with four RBIs, while Lauren White and Graci Rodeheaver each collected two hits and two RBIs as Uniontown (8-4, 6-4) cruised to a Section 2-4A win. Nina Hillard had a hit for Oakland Catholic (1-8, 1-8).

Upper St. Clair 7, South Fayette 2 – Geneva Eisinger doubled and drove in two runs while Alexa Demas went 3 for 4 with a double as Upper St. Clair (5-7, 3-5) defeated South Fayette (7-7, 6-4) in Section 3-5A. Caroline Kelly and Liv Bonacci each tripled for the Lions. Brooklyn Kemp got the win for the Panthers.

West Allegheny 18, Chartiers Valley 7 – Madison Maritz went 3 for 5 with a home run and five RBIs, Autumn Cischke plated five runs and Katelyn Cook doubled and drove in four to lead West Allegheny (8-2, 6-2) to a Section 3-5A win. Sadie Shomonsky went 4 for 4 with an RBI and Lily Duffill tripled for Chartiers Valley (2-9, 2-8). Irena Santoro got the win for West A.

West Greene 10, Jefferson-Morgan 1 – Josie Mason, Katie Brudnock and Smantha Zimmerman each knocked in two runs and winning pitcher Caitlin Whyte gave up one unearned run on three hits and fanned four as West Greene (10-4, 7-2) beat Jefferson-Morgan (10-3, 7-2) in Section 2-A. Addyson Teagarden drove in the lone run for the Rockets.

Indiana 8, Moon 4 – Garrett Goodrich and Max Campisano finished with three goals apiece and Jacob Wood and Maddox Myers also scored for Indiana in a Section 2-2A win.

Girls lacrosse

Peters Township 19, Hempfield 3 – Emme Shanafelt scored four goals and Sia Spanos, Dana Anderson and Avery Hobbs added three goals each to lead Peters Township to a Section 1-3A victory.

Pine-Richland 14, North Hills 4 – Claire Mill scored seven goals and Cate Gentile finished with five goals and three assists to lead Pine-Richland to a Section 2-3A win. Mallory Boivin had two goals and three assists and Cara Murray made three saves for the Rams.

Plum 19, Baldwin 12 – Carly Venanzi and Natalie Wagner each scored four goals to lead Plum to a Section 1-3A win. Ella Pedley collected three goals and three assists, Madi Stewart also scored three goals and Emma Fischer made eight saves for the Mustangs.

Derry 3, Bishop Guilfoyle 0 – Caden Marsh had 12 kills, Jaiden Beeman added 10 kills, Landon Campbell recorded 24 assists and five aces and John Kerin finished with 15 digs and five aces to lead Derry to a nonsection win.
