Trib Total Media has named the inaugural members of its Pittsburgh Community Advisory Panel, a group of local leaders and community voices who will help inform and strengthen the organization’s coverage across the region.
The panel serves as a cornerstone of the Tribune-Review’s newly announced weekend print edition, which will focus on Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. It launches on May 9.
“The strength of our journalism depends on the range of perspectives behind it,” said Jennifer Bertetto, Trib Total Media president and CEO. “By bringing together voices from across Pittsburgh, we’re creating a direct line to the communities we serve and ensuring our reporting remains relevant and responsive.”
The inaugural panel brings together a diverse group of leaders, professionals and community voices from across the region:
• Rabbi Seth Kaj Adelson, Congregation Beth Shalom
• Latasha Wilson-Batch, CEO, Best of the Batch Foundation
• EJ Borghetti, special assistant to the senior vice chancellor for external relations at the University of Pittsburgh
• Terry Breen, retiree from Crafton Heights/former business owner
• Nicholas Brown, broadcast journalism student, Point Park University
• Shawna Carter, small business owner and Sheraden resident
• Carrie Lewis DelRosso, government relations executive, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney
• Ken Gormley, president, Duquesne University
• Doug Heuck, publisher, Pittsburgh Quarterly
• Jessica Towhey, incoming president, Rotary Club of Pittsburgh
• Michelle Wright, former WTAE-TV anchor
Members will serve 18-month terms, contributing insights to help guide meaningful coverage and elevate the stories that matter most to their neighborhoods.
Panelists will have opportunities to share their perspectives through op-eds and guest columns reaching more than 3.5 million monthly readers.
“This is about accountability as much as it is about insight,” said Executive Editor Luis Fabregas. “We’re inviting people into the process to challenge our assumptions, broaden our lens and push us to produce journalism that truly reflects the realities of the communities we cover.”
The Trib’s expanded focus on Pittsburgh and Allegheny County extends beyond its print products and includes expanded coverage on TribLive.com, the most visited news website in Western Pennsylvania.
