South Hills Chorale Concert

The South Hills Chorale will present its spring concert, Dreamscapes: Songs of Hope and Adventure, on May 1 at 7 p.m. and May 2 at 1 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 44 Highland Road, Bethel Park.

The program explores the universal themes of imagination, perseverance and the spirit of adventure through an engaging collection of choral works. Audiences will be transported through musical storytelling that ranges from heroic journeys and legendary tales to moments of reflection and inspiration.

“This concert invites audiences to reconnect with the sense of wonder and possibility that music can create,” said music director Skylar Bunk. “Each selection tells a story about striving, dreaming, and discovering new horizons.”

The South Hills Chorale, a community ensemble of singers from throughout the region, is known for presenting varied and accessible choral repertoire while fostering artistic excellence and community connection.

Tickets are $25 and are available online, at the door, or from any chorale member.

Christ United Methodist Church offers convenient parking and comfortable seating, providing an ideal setting for this uplifting musical experience.

Spring Artist Market

South Arts Pittsburgh is hosting a two-day Artist Market from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. May 2-3 at the Schoolhouse Arts & History Center, 2600 South Park Road, Bethel Park. The Schoolhouse Artist Market will include local vendors displaying/selling their artworks throughout the first floor, and South Arts members’ artwork for sale in one of the classrooms of the historic schoolhouse. Artwork and photos are framed and ready to hang in your home or given as a thoughtful gift. Check out the variety of original artwork and photography by local artists. Jewelry, cards and matted prints are also available. Cash, checks or credit cards accepted. Reginald’s Coffee will be open to purchase coffee/tea while you peruse art. When you visit Reginald’s, be sure to check out South Arts members’ art exhibition in the lobby. Art is available for purchase and 10 percent of the sale goes to the Bethel Park Historical Society for their continued improvements to the historic Schoolhouse. AUP inviting singles 50 to join

The Association of University People invites singles 50 , who are four-year college graduates, to join them for activities and to meet new people.

Activities include happy hours, brunches, lunches, dinners, meet-ups at music venues, a non-traditional book group, day trips and Scrabble.

Those interested can attend three activities as guests before joining.

South Park’s class of ‘76 reunion

South Park High School’s class of 1976 will celebrate its 50th reunion Aug. 21 at the South Park Fairgrounds.

The festivities will start at noon at The Cottage, near the “clock building.”

The cost is $25 per person, and guests are welcome.

The reunion committee will provide food and cake. Attendees should bring their own beverages, snacks and sides.

Men’s church softball league registration

Registration is open to teams, individual players or a group of players wanting to play in the Men’s Church Softball League of the South Hills. Games are played as doubleheaders primarily on Saturdays (5:30 or 8 p.m.), based on schedule and requests. The season generally runs from May through July, plus playoffs (holidays off with one schedule request option). Games are played in Bethel Park or Bridgeville. The entry fee is per team or by individual.
