Allegheny County Police have charged Valerie Kubiak, of Bridgeville, with stealing more than $18,000 from a Chartiers Valley booster organization.

In February, county detectives started an investigation into funds being stolen from the bank account of the Chartiers Valley Choral Parents Association, according to police.

Detectives determined that Kubiak, 42, the association’s treasurer, had made unauthorized withdrawals from the account since 2023, police said.

Charges against Kubiak include receiving stolen property, access device fraud and theft by unlawful taking.

She has a preliminary hearing scheduled May 18 before District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet.

Police said more than $18,000 was stolen from the bank account and spent on restaurants, vacations, sports gambling websites and nail salons.
