As we approach the 250th anniversary of the founding of our nation, we are simultaneously speeding toward its impending demise. Depressing, I know. The division and hate Americans seem to have for each other is increasing exponentially with no end in sight.
Perhaps it’s time to take an honest look at what exactly is happening to create this situation. First, we have an ineffectual government in Washington. A Congress filled with too many “lifers” whose decades in power lead to more opportunity for corruption, bribery, sexual misconduct and more. Their main focus is investigating each other, getting reelected, increasing the national debt, becoming millionaires through “shrewd” stock investments (wink) and taxing the populace in unlimited new and exciting ways. Through their constant infighting and performance art, they inflame hate and division among their partisans to keep them occupied and fighting among themselves, so as to ignore their corruption.
Second, recent unimaginable levels of fraud and theft across the nation barely cause a stir among taxpayers who don’t mind having billions of tax dollars distributed to “Learning Centers,” Medicare/Medicaid fraudsters and illegals or funneled to foreign adversaries. Hopefully you paid your taxes this year so as not to interrupt the cash flow of these hard-working thieves.
Third, media corruption is beyond the pale. Instead of truth and exposing the corruption and failures of the powerful, their focus is to enflame, divide, lie, cover-up or completely omit. With no exposure to light, the rats run unfettered from sea to shining sea.
