Eden Christian Academy’s baseball team won its eighth and ninth consecutive games with back-to-back section victories over Monessen.

The Warriors won by a 10-0 score April 20 as senior pitcher Jackson Bremmer picked up the win. Senior INF/P Brady Hull and sophomore OF/P Levi DeFazio each doubled and knocked in a pair of runs.

A day later, the Warriors blanked Monessen, 15-0, as Hull struck out eight and went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs.

Senior catcher Josh Tilden doubled and produced four RBIs and senior P/INF Christian Watkins drove in three runs.

Eden Christian won the Section 3-A title with an 8-0 record and improved to 10-3 overall with three nonsection games remaining.

Previously, Eden Christian defeated Burrell, 9-4, in a nonsection contest.

DeFazio, the winning pitcher, clouted a pair of doubles and drove in three runs while seniors Noah Emswiler (OF/P) and Levi Parrott (2B) each had two RBIs.

Panthers pick up wins

Sewickley Academy improved to 7-5 overall with a pair of nonsection wins on the baseball diamond April 17 and April 20 against Beth-Center and Brashear.

The Panthers edged Beth-Center, 9-8, and beat Brashear by a 6-4 score.

Sophomore INF/P/OF Carter Jackson homered and drove in two runs, senior INF/OF Billy Pietragallo tripled and knocked in two runs and junior OF Cooper Jackson doubled and had one RBI against Beth-Center.

Junior center fielder Jacob Stanislaw went 1 for 3 with two RBIs, while junior INF/P David Young went 2 for 3 with an RBI against Brashear. Freshman P/INF Logan Berezney struck out 10 in five scoreless innings.
