Another member of the Mt. Lebanon’s PIAA championship team is headed to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Alex Tecza will join former Mt. Lebanon and Navy teammate Eli Heidenreich at Steelers rookie minicamp May 8-10 at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex. The official social media account of the Navy football team posted a message on X to announce the Steelers had invited Tecza, a fullback.

Heidenreich was selected Saturday as the final of the Steelers’ 10 picks in this year’s draft. He is listed as running back but played out of a wide receiver spot just as often.

Tecza had 2,085 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns as a senior, including three in the PIAA title game that claimed the Blue Devils their first state championship in football.

In three seasons playing for Navy, Tecza had 2,236 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns, including 902 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior. He added 451 receiving yards and three touchdowns receiving.

Listed at 6-foot, 199 pounds by Navy, Tecza is likely attending rookie camp on a tryout basis.
