When Cheyenne Piper pitched for Ligonier Valley, she threw three consecutive no-hitters in the WPIAL Class 2A playoffs.
One was a perfect game against Keystone Oaks.
She is now the ace at Westminster, and she remains as stingy as ever.
Perfectly stingy.
Piper tossed her first perfect game in college as the Titans blanked Thiel, 10-0, in six innings.
The sophomore struck out eight and did not walk a batter, while throwing 68 pitches, the minimum for the run-ruled PAC game.
Freshman Kylie Anthony (Penn-Trafford) helped to fuel the offense by going 3 for 4 with a double, triple, a walk and four runs scored. It was her conference-leading eighth triple.
Piper added a 16-strikeout performance in an 8-1 win over Waynesburg. Piper is 15-3 with a 1.80 ERA and 0.84 WHIP for Westminster (27-9, 19-3), which will be the No. 1 seed heading into the PAC Tournament.
Piper was named PAC Pitcher of the week, Anthony the conference newcomer of the week.
