USC’s Luke McRee was among a pair of tight ends and four others who signed as undrafted free agents with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Arizona State’s Chamon Metayer was other tight end, with Indiana cornerback Devan Boykin, Missouri linebacker Daylan Carnell, Kansas kicker Laith Marjan and Syracuse defensive lineman Kevin Jobity Jr. also announced as signings by the Steelers on Monday, two days after the draft ended in Pittsburgh.

The 6-foot-4, 243-pound McRee was a second-team all-Big Ten honoree as a redshirt senior in 2025 when he had 30 receptions for 450 yards and four touchdowns. The season before – after recovering from a torn ACL that caused him to miss the prior year’s bowl game – McRee had 24 catches in nine games.

  • Metayer (6-4, 255) had 38 receptions for 375 yards and four touchdowns as a redshirt senior.
  • The 6-2, 225 Carnell was listed as a safety by Missouri, where he was a three-year starter. He played most as a slot/nickel in 2025, followed by linebacker. For his career, Carnell had 174 tackles (103 solo, 19 1/2 for loss) with five interceptions, three sacks and four forced fumbles.
  • Boykin (5-10, 195) transferred last year to Indiana from N.C. State. He made 10 starts during the Hoosiers’ national championship run, finishing with 59 tackles (37 solo, six for loss), two interceptions and seven passes defensed.
  • Marjan (6-2, 210) spent three seasons at East Carolina and one at South Alabama before making 14 of 17 field-goal attempts and all 40 of his extra-point tries as a redshirt senior at Kansas. His 14 consecutive field goals made set the school record.
  • The 6-4, 300-pound Jobity had 20 tackles for loss and 10 sacks over 38 games for Syracuse, including 30 tackles, six TFL and five sacks this past season.
