Meal plan costs, fees and some room rates are increasing at Pennsylvania Western University.

The cost of 19-week and 14-week residential meal plans will increase by $100 per semester, said Wendy Mackall, PennWest spokeswoman. It reflects a 4.1% increase from PennWest’s vendor.

The current 19-week plan is $2,475 and the 14-week plan is $2,375.

Room rates vary by room type. Some adjustments are hikes and others are decreases, depending on campus — Clarion, California or Edinboro.

A studio single will jump $100, from $5,000 to $5,100 per semester.

A two-single bedroom suite with two bathrooms will be $4,940, a $140 increase at the Clarion and Edinboro campuses and a $541 increase at California. A four-single bedroom with two baths will be $4,760, a $260 increase at Edinboro and a $786 increase at California.

“Changes in the room rates per semester for 2026-2027 reflect a PennWest objective since integration: having standard room rates for all campuses, matching features and rates so that all campuses are presenting equitable opportunities for housing,” Mackall said.

PennWest’s per-semester recreation center fee will increase $11, from $186 to $197, this fall. The per-semester student center fees will increase $1, from $324 to $325.

PennWest’s Council of Trustees approved the fee structure at a meeting last week.
