Aquinas Academy 10, Hillel Academy 2 – Peter Koble doubled and drove in two runs, Gio Spotts went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI and Tim Crawford got the win as Aquinas Academy (7-5) rolled to a nonsection win over Hillel Academy.

Beaver 7, Ambridge 3 – Maddox Tanner went 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs, Aidan Skalko doubled and knocked in two runs and David Corob picked up a win as Beaver (11-5, 7-3) beat Ambridge (7-7, 6-5) in Section 1-4A. Colten Wetzel and Connor Iorfido doubled for the Bridgers.

Blackhawk 16, North Catholic 3 – Carter Davis went 3 for 3 with a pair of home runs, a double and four RBIs and Samuel Saliba knocked in three runs to boost Blackhawk (11-4, 7-3) in a Section 1-4A win. Landon Petok homered and knocked in two runs and Matthew Madonna doubled and plated a run for North Catholic (4-9, 2-7). Logan Elich finished with two RBIs and Adien Gill got a win for the Cougars.
Brashear 6, Carrick 4 – Henry Simcox went 2 for 4 with three RBIs, Benjamin Kogan doubled and knocked in a run and Justin Huber got the win as Brashear (5-6, 2-3) beat Carrick (6-8, 5-3) in the City League. Milton Addison had two hits for the Raiders. True Crawford earned a save for the Bulls.

Burrell 1, Deer Lakes 0 – Brayden Mell tossed a complete-game no-hitter and struck out seven while Adam Sheftic drove in the game’s only run on a sacrifice fly as Burrell (9-7, 7-5) beat Deer Lakes (5-12, 3-7) in Section 3-3A. Lancers starter Nolan Danka also went the distance, giving up the one run on three hits and fanned four in seven innings.
Butler 2, Seneca Valley 0 – Blake Scott hammered a two-run homer in the second inning while Mavrik Clement and Trent Best each doubled to lift Butler (14-3, 9-2) to a Section 1-6A win over Seneca Valley (10-9, 5-6). Mason Fisher doubled for the Raiders. Kyle Casteel gave up one hit and struck out six in a complete-game shutout for the Golden Tornado.

Elizabeth Forward 5, West Mifflin 4 – Winning pitcher Nate Grimm doubled and drove in two runs and Kameron Little knocked in a run as Elizabeth Forward (11-5, 9-1) edged out West Mifflin (12-5, 8-2) in a battle of the top two teams in Section 2-4A. Chase Maggio brought home a pair of runs for the Titans.
Fort Cherry 12, California 7 – Colton Temple homered twice, doubled and knocked in five runs, Ben Demascal hit a solo home run and Tyler Wolfe doubled and had two RBIs for Fort Cherry (15-0, 10-0), which scored five runs in the top of the eighth to escape California (10-6, 8-2) with a win in Section 1-2A. Chase Shemansky tripled and plated three runs for the Trojans. Ryan Huey picked up a win for the Rangers.
Fox Chapel 6, Allderdice 5 – Tyler Golembiewski went 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs and drove in the game-winning run on a single in the sixth and Joe Geller got the win as Fox Chapel (9-6) beat Allderdice (7-10) in nonsection play. Luke Weldon doubled twice and plated two runs for the Dragons.
Freeport 8, Yough 4 – Kason Barker went 2 for 3 with five RBIs and Trey Schreckengost doubled and knocked in a pair to lead Freeport (15-0, 10-0) to a Section 3-3A win. Nate Bell plated two runs for Yough (8-7, 4-6). Gage Blystone got the win for the Yellowjackets.
Greensburg Central Catholic 14, West Greene 4 – Tyler Samide doubled and brought home three runs and Carson Kramer went 2 for 4 with three RBIs as Greensburg Central Catholic (11-0, 10-0) cruised to a Section 1-A win. Darren Knight went 2 for 3 with an RBI for West Greene (2-14, 2-8). Centurions pitcher Stephen Kochis got the win.
Greensburg Salem 7, Highlands 6 – Colin Doyle singled to drive in the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth to lift Greensburg Salem (2-12, 1-9) past Highlands (4-13, 2-8) in Section 3-4A. Doyle finished 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs and Brady Gillott doubled for the Golden Lions. Troy Bielak went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs for the Golden Rams.
Hempfield 13, Woodland Hills 3 – Chase Sikorski homered, Evan Dunlap singled, doubled and drove in a run, Grady Wheaton had a double and an RBI and Owen Shuglie had two hits and two RBIs to lead Hempfield (9-9, 6-5) to a Section 2-6A win. Aaron Concepcion doubled and knocked in two runs for Woodland Hills (5-11, 0-11).
Hopewell 4, Central Valley 3 – Kingston Krotec picked up a win as Hopewell (11-5, 6-4) scored the game-winning run in the top of the seventh to defeat Central Valley (4-11, 3-7) in Section 1-4A. Collin Davis drove in two runs and Charles Smetana doubled for the Vikings. Antonio Perri and Wyatt Clark each doubled for the Warriors.
Jeannette 16, Mapletown 1 – Noah Rattigan homered, doubled and drove in four runs, Jayden Kennedy went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs and Amari Thomas doubled and plated three runs to power Jeannette (9-6, 5-5) to a Section 1-A victory. Latrobe 8, Armstrong 4 – Cole Short doubled and plated three runs, Grady Ruffner doubled twice and drove in a pair of runs and Aaron Gaskey got the win as Latrobe (16-2, 8-2) doubled up Armstrong (4-13, 2-10) in Section 1-5A. Owen Crissman doubled and brought home two runs for the River Hawks. Noah Noel and Owen Teslevich each doubled and had an RBI for the Wildcats.

Mohawk 7, Ellwood City 3 – Vinny Pezzuolo went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs, Noah Motter also drove in two runs and Tyler Howarth had two hits and an RBI for Mohawk (12-4, 8-2) in a matchup of the top two teams in Section 1-3A. Geordan Bokor went 3 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs for Ellwood City (14-3, 8-2).

Thomas Jefferson 12, McKeesport 2 – Justin Fry went 3 for 4 with a double and four RBIs and Andy Brnusak and Eli Graff each knocked in a run as Thomas Jefferson (13-4, 9-1) rolled to a Section 4-5A win. Nico Price doubled and plated a run for McKeesport (1-14, 0-10). Justin Berberich got the win for the Jaguars.
Union 16, Summit Academy 0 – Colton Cox doubled and drove in three runs, Cam Johnson and Maddox Ryhal each doubled and plated two runs and Jackson Morrison, Stephen Lane and Landon Waters each had an RBI as Union (6-9, 6-4) thumped Summit Academy (2-9, 0-8) in Section 2-2A. Cole Harper got the win as Union held Summit hitless in three innings.
Uniontown 9, Laurel Highlands 6 – Brayden Hinzy doubled and knocked in two runs while Lane Smiley got the win as Uniontown (8-8, 4-6) bested Laurel Highlands (4-11, 2-8) in Section 2-4A. Sevi Vechiolia doubled twice and had a pair of RBIs for the Mustangs.
Waynesburg 5, Keystone Oaks 4 – Jarrett Tritinik delivered a game-tying RBI single and CJ Corwin followed with a game-winning RBI single to lift Waynesburg (6-10, 5-5) past Keystone Oaks (7-8, 5-5) in Section 4-3A. Corwin and Tretinik each finished with two RBIs for the Raiders. Max Boehm doubled twice and knocked in two runs for the Golden Eagles. Austin Surber got the win for Waynesburg.

In the first game, Mikaila Ditty went 3 for 5 with a home run and four RBIs, Jocelyn Snyder went 3 for 5 with two doubles and four RBIs and Madison Hughley homered for the Vikings. In the second game, Josalin McCauley went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs and Snyder homered for Apollo-Ridge.

West Allegheny 9, Upper St. Clair 8 – Ava Benish had two doubles and two RBIs and Katelyn Cook doubled and drove in two runs to lead West Allegheny (10-3, 7-3) to a Section 3-5A win. Rachel Scharrer had a double, home run and two RBIs for Upper St. Clair (7-8, 4-6).
Western Beaver 13, Central Valley 12 – Rylee Hall hit a game-winning RBI single to cap a 10-run bottom of the seventh for Western Beaver (5-8, 3-7) in a Section 3-4A win. Carleigh Smith hit a grand slam, Olivia Phillips had two singles and two RBIs for the Beavers. Mariana Robison had a double, home run and four RBIs for Central Valley (3-12, 3-9).
Boys volleyball
Penn-Trafford 3, Franklin Regional 0 – Ethan McDonald had 12 kills and four blocks and Billy Spena finished with 37 assists and eight digs to lead Penn-Trafford to a Section 3-3A win. Matthew Eguajoe added eight kills and four blocks, Billy Bratkovich had eight digs and Brayden Tirpak recorded five blocks for the Warriors.
Girls lacrosse
Mars 22, Aquinas Academy 3 – Hailey Long and Katie Blake scored four goals apiece, Anna McGrath added three and Tess McGrath, Lucy Balazs and Ella DePaoli had two each to lead Mars to a Section 2-2A win.
Flag football
Mars 26, Ellis School 24 – Ava Pulliam threw four touchdown passes, including a 50-yarder and a 60-yarder to Gemma Fratto in the second half, to lead Mars to a Section 1 win. Miley Gratton had a 65-yard touchdown catch and Mackenzie Powell made a 5-yard TD grab for the Fightin’ Planets.
Oakland Catholic 26, Penn Hills 13 – Ava Scott threw for four touchdown passes and Noelle Spears and Breanna Watkins each caught two TD passes to lead Oakland Catholic to a Section 3 win over Penn Hills. Saniya Horsley and Aujanaye Anderson each caught a touchdown pass from Jordin Stubbs who also went over 1,000 receiving yards in her freshman season for Penn Hills.
Plum 29, Jeannette 26 – Peyton Charrie threw for 267 yards and three touchdowns and Caydence Morgan had six catches for 102 yards and a touchdown and recorded a safety to help Plum (12-0) clinch the Section 3 title. Kaiden Young had five catches for 56 yards and a touchdown, Brooke Dugas scored a touchdown on offense and defense and Sophie Sherman also had a TD for the Mustangs.
Uniontown 44, Peters Township 14 – Lyric McKee threw for 265 yards and five touchdowns, ran for 110 yards and intercepted three passes, returning one for a touchdown, to lead Uniontown to a Section 2 win. Aierra Jenkins had 12 catches for 165 yards and three scores and Aubree Long and Lonnie Uluiakeba also had TD catches for the Red Raiders.
