5K Run planned in East Vandergrift

East Vandergrift will sponsor a one-day Ethnic Day Festival from noon to 11 p.m. June 20 in the borough to celebrate the borough’s 125th anniversary.

A 5K run and one-mile walk will begin at 8 a.m. on McKinley Avenue. Entry fee is $25. Registration is required by June 1 to guarantee an event T-shirt.

Oakmont planting event seeking volunteers

Oakmont Shade Tree Commission will have a spring tree planting event at 9 a.m. Saturday starting at the corner of Fourth Street and Maryland Avenue near St. Irenaeus Church.
