A former TGI Friday’s restaurant off Route 30 in Hempfield is set to become a Bank of America.
Township planning manager Matthew Pernelli said there will be minor facade improvements, a drive-through ATM added and updates to landscaping and the parking lot.
The restaurant closed in late 2024 and the 5,300-square-foot building has been available for lease. It is in the Hempfield Square shopping plaza off Route 30, along with a Target, Giant Eagle and Lowe’s.
Hempfield supervisors this week approved that plan and a second one for an addition to an existing commercial building on the opposite end of the township.
Pernelli said a 3,500-square-foot addition is set for construction at a building that now houses a Hallmark store on Nature Park Road, behind Barnes & Noble. The addition will be for retail and office space. Tenants haven’t been announced, he said.
