Highly anticipated new venue Citizens Live at the Wylie added another show to its initial slate of events with “Pumped Up Kicks” artist Foster the People, Live Nation announced on Wednesday.
The group will make the Pittsburgh stop on their Good Mourning Sunshine Tour on Oct. 4, slotting in just two days after Wiz Khalifa will perform at the Wylie’s opening show on Oct. 2.
They join Styx, Freya Skye, Boyz II Men, Tedeschi Trucks Band and GloRilla in the initial run of shows at the new venue.
Foster the People are best known for their 2011 hit “Pumped Up Kicks” which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The California-based indie pop group has received three Grammy Award nominations and are known for their energetic live performances.
Their most recent album was 2024’s “Paradise State of Mind,” and Pittsburgh fans have waited a long time for them to come back around — the group last played a show in the area in 2017 at Stage AE on the North Shore.
A Citi presale for tickets will begin on Tuesday, May 5 at 8 a.m., followed by an artist presale at 10 a.m. Other presales will run throughout the week, and general on sale will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, May 8, at fosterthepeople.com.
