A Sharpsburg convenience store was hit with several violations by the Allegheny County Health Department.
CK Mart at 501 N. Main St. underwent an inspection April 27 where it was dinged for high-risk foodborne illness, according to the county report.
The inspector found rodent-contaminated ramen packages along with rodent droppings inside the slush machine cabinet, soda beverage cabinet and under the food shelves.
There also were dead rodents under the slush machine and on the interior border of cabinet panel, according to the report.
Lower-risk alerts focused on the lack of a food probe to check hot dog temperatures, no date markings on frozen food and plastic containers stored on the ground.
The Health Department provided recommendations for corrective actions, which include pest control services weekly and maintaining routine cleaning and disinfecting.
If the measures are not taken, the facility will be closed by the county.
The phone number listed online for CK Mart was not in service April 29.
